Got this meme from book blogger/booktuber Elizziebooks, who got it from another book blogger, Ginger! I loved, loved, loved this idea because if there's anything I love as much as reading, it's music.
I know, I know..it's Wednesday! I'm sorry :)
Recently I've been on a serious health kick, well not serious but serious for me! I've been really trying to focus on eating right and cleaning up my diet and putting in a really conscious effort into exercising.
I've been trying to get into running recently, I'm faaaar from a runner so it's really tough for me! I can go on the elliptical for an hour but running for 5 minutes consecutively? I have a better chance of Bradley Cooper knocking on my door and asking for my hand in marriage. But I've been really putting an effort into getting better and I've found this incredible running! (Couch to 5k - C25K) :) It slowly builds up your endurance to be able to run a 5k.
The point of my rambling here is my workout playlist! I personally CANNOT do any form of cardio without a really great, fun playlist. If I'm listening to a really good song, I'll just get lost in it and stop focusing on my burning muscles for a few minutes! I don't really have one genre of music that I listen to when I work out. It's a pretty wide range, one song will be a fun pop song like Kelly Clarkson or Demi Lovato and then next will be rap like Wu Tang Clan. As long as I have a good beat or lyrics I can relate to, it'll get me in the zone.
One artist, well DJ, I really love is Girl Talk. He talks soooo many songs and remixes them together to make 6 or 7 minute songs. After 5 or 6 of his songs, you'll have done all of your cardio (depending on how long you go).
My absolute favorite by him has to be "Get it Get it"
Another song I'm really loving at the gym is "Don't Be A Girl About It" by Kelly Clarkson. Let's just say I can really relate to it :)
I like to listen to a lot of old school music while I work out too, a lot of the music from the 70's or 80's is just so fun and gets you in a good place making you want to keep going! One of my favorites is "Hot Blooded" by Foreigner. (Any Bones fans?? When Booth gets blown up opening the fridge? Anyone? No?)
I really love Maroon 5 and Carrie Underwood at the gym, also! I mean who wouldn't want to get fit while listening to Adam Levine and his beautiful voice or listening to badass and super fit Carrie Underwood?
What are you listening to at the gym? Love hearing about new music to add to my playlist!! :)
